Emails and reminders
Every email Forge sends for you, when it goes, and which ones you can switch on or off.
On this page
Forge sends the emails around a booking so you do not have to. This page lists them, and shows which you control.
Most of the switches are in Settings → Notifications.
Emails to the person who booked
| When it goes | Can you switch it off? | |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmation | As soon as they book | No, always sent |
| Rescheduled | When the time changes | No, always sent |
| Cancelled | When the booking is cancelled | No, always sent |
| 24-hour reminder | A day before | Yes. On by default |
| 1-hour reminder | An hour before | Yes. On by default |
| Follow-up | About a day after the session ends | Yes. Off by default |
| Review request | About a day after the session ends | Yes. Off by default |
The confirmation carries a calendar invite, links to add the booking to Google, Apple or Outlook, and links to reschedule or cancel. A cancellation carries a calendar update that removes the event.
A reminder is only sent if the booking was made far enough ahead for it to make sense. Someone who books for this afternoon does not get a "tomorrow" reminder.
If someone adds guests to a booking, the guests are emailed the invite, and any change or cancellation.

Emails about money and paperwork
- Invoices: an email with a link to view and pay, when you send one. A receipt when it is paid.
- Overdue reminders: up to three, when Chase overdue invoices is on in Settings → Payments. See Invoices and deposits.
- Proposals: an email with the link when you send one, and up to two gentle reminders. On acceptance, you get a notice and the client gets their signed copy. See Proposals.
- Polls: voters who left an email are told when you book the winning time.
- Client portal: the portal link when you send it, and a sign-in link when a client asks for one.
- Messages: a chat that goes unread is emailed to the client. See Messages.
Change reminder settings
- Open Settings → Notifications.
- Under Bookers, switch the booker's reminders, the follow-up and the review request on or off.
- Under You, choose your own.
- Choose Save changes.
Reminder settings apply to bookings made after you change them. Reminders already scheduled for existing bookings keep the settings they were made with.
Who the emails come from
Emails to your clients are sent from Forge's address, bookings@forge.page. When a client replies, the reply goes to you.
With the brand kit switched on, client emails carry your name as the sender, your logo and your colour.
Times in emails are written in 24-hour format, with the timezone. The booker's copy shows the time in the booker's own timezone.
Emails from Forge about your account
We also send a small number of emails about your account: confirming your email address, password resets, your trial, and your subscription. These can't be switched off.
The Monday digest, the morning "what's waiting" email and our occasional notes to hosts each have an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing there stops all of them at once. You will still get emails about your bookings and your account. Switching one back on in Settings subscribes you again.
