# Boards

> Tables you shape yourself, for anything you track. Leads, Clients and Companies are boards too.

A board is a table you shape yourself: shoots, suppliers, anything you track. Each row is an item, and you choose the columns.

**Leads**, **Clients** and **Companies** are boards, so everything here applies to them as well.

## Find your boards

Leads, Clients and Companies are in the sidebar under **Studio**.

Boards you make yourself do not have a sidebar entry yet. Open them at [forge.page/app/boards](https://forge.page/app/boards), which lists your CRM boards and your own. It is worth bookmarking.

## Make a board

1. Open your boards and choose **New board**.
2. Give it a **Board name**.
3. Say what one row is, such as a shoot or a supplier.
4. Leave **Start with Status, Owner and Date columns** ticked for a head start.
5. Choose **Create board**.

## Columns

Choose **Add column** and pick a type:

- **Basics**: Text, Long text, Number, Date, Timeline, Checkbox, Files.
- **Labels**: Status, Dropdown, Rating.
- **Contact**: Email, Phone, Link.
- **Connections**: Linked items, and From linked items, which pulls a value across from a linked board.
- **Automatic**: Last updated, Created.

## Groups

Rows sit in groups. Use a group's menu to **Add group**, **Rename group**, change its **Colour** or **Delete group**. A board always keeps at least one.

On the Leads board the groups are your pipeline stages, so they can't be added, renamed or deleted.

## Views

A view is a saved way of looking at the same rows. Add as many as you need.

- **Table**: the grid. Every board keeps one.
- **Kanban**: cards in columns. Needs a status column.
- **Calendar**: items on their dates. Needs a date or timeline column.
- **Form**: a public form that adds an item for each answer. Forms can't add clients or companies.

In a view you can search, filter, sort, group rows and choose which columns show. **Save to this view** keeps the changes, and **Save as new view…** makes another.

## Open an item

Click a row to open it. The panel has four tabs:

- **Overview**, with every field.
- **Updates**, for notes.
- **Activity**, for what has changed.
- **Files**, for attachments: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint, up to 10 MB each.

## Import and export

**More ways to add → Import from CSV** brings in a file with a header row. You say what each column is before anything is saved.

- Your own boards take up to 5,000 rows at a time. Clients and Companies take 1,000.
- Files can be up to 5 MB.
- On your own boards, **Undo import** takes it back.
- On Clients and Leads, a row with no email is kept on a board called **Contacts without an email**, because a client or a lead needs one. The summary tells you how many, with a link to the board.
- On Clients, a **Company** column links each client to a company: one you already have with that name, or a new one.

**Export as CSV** exports what the current view shows.

## On a phone

On a small screen the table becomes a grouped list. Tap an item to open all of its fields.

## Delete a board

Boards you made can be deleted from the board's options, and you can undo it straight away. Leads, Clients and Companies can't be deleted.
